He is an accurate passer and is capable of remaining calm in the pocket to deliver an accurate throw to his receiver. He is a very strong running QB who can take on would-be tacklers for additional gain and breaking out for exciting long runs. He demonstrates good timing and anticipation of his receiver’s routes. Austin is consistently working to maintain a higher trajectory when throwing deep balls and is very coachable, always taking in feedback in order to improve his game. Austin is a very capable Dual Threat QB who can hurt a defense through both the air and on the ground. He has demonstrated a strong ability to run RPO reads and deliver consistent and accurate passes while on the run / roll-out. Displays good speed and quickness getting to the outside. Difficult to bring down on the first hit. He’s able to move freely in and around the pocket while maintaining his focus on the play. He does not panic when the pocket collapses around him and stays locked in on his receiver. He is a very quick thinker, capable of making decisions at a rapid pace, and overall has a high level football IQ for someone his age.
